If men like these refuse to change their ways, it’s up to the people higher up in society to review and improve their policies (for institutions and brands) in addition to implementing a zero-tolerance attitude towards those that prey on the vulnerability of girls and women.
Yes, this is true and at least in most of the U.S. it is happening. Sure it is not happening fast enough and yes there have been setbacks. Things continue to get better and your story is a good contribution to awareness.
We still live in a Patriarchy, it will be a Patriarchy for maybe decades more. There will be no revolution only evolution.
It would be helpful if you provide an explanation of “a zero-tolerance attitude towards those that prey on the vulnerability of girls and women.” How do we identify those who need to be punished and in what way should they be punished. I think we need to be harsh but where would you draw the line.
What would you think of 40 hours of community service for catcalling, immediate dismissal for unwanted touching?
How would you suggest we deal with men who interrupt or talk over women? Men who display patronizing or dismissive behaviors?
