Yes, Tic Toc is being victimized by the cold war between the U.S. and China.

But you are wrong here:

"Technology is going to get more and more invasive all the time. "

Technology will only be as invasive as we allow. Your generation does not seem to value their privacy as much as mine or you value the benefits you receive for giving up your privacy more than I do. I don't watch much video, never seen anything Tic Toc or Instagram or even Twitter and my Facebook usage is sort of a legacy of it's novalty at the time of its introduction and mostly put me off of other forms of social media. I do like Medium but it is so different.

Regarding:

"A few years ago, people wouldn’t be able to fathom receiving text messages on their wristwatch and yet here we are."

You must not be aware of Dick Tracy and his watchband 2 way radio/phone. It might have been a video phone. That was more than half a century ago. The Jetsons were video chatting more than half a century ago as well. Science Fiction Comics have predicted a lot of the technology we live with today. They might have even been the inspiration for that tech.

How long before Iron Man or Gundam Mobile Suits become a reality.

Any app that serves me only content that suits me, knows me too well and is putting me in a filter bubble that narrows my horizons. I can easily search for what I enjoy but maybe I should be served content that I would not think I would like but need to know.

Actually I don't think it a generational thing, I think it is an age and experience thing. I think at your age I might have behaved/believed similarly in a similar situation.

TEK
