Yesterday a census worker asked me if I was from an English background. Anglo's share more than a common language (spoken in many dialects). While much of what we share is in need of reform there is a common culture, conqueror mindset, an acquisitiveness that we share.

Hispanics, is it wrong for people with roots in lands that were for a time Spanish Possessions to accept the Hispanic label? My original question was about why people who seem to be more Native American than Latinx would choose to be considered Hispanics. I think the answer was that Native Americans faced worse discrimination than those that could pass for other.
