You are right, I don't live there unless it is Lompoc, Dayton Beach, Titusville, Bangor or Slidell. In each of those cities two can live almost as cheaply as one when I lived there. That is especially true if they are intimate partners even without public transport. We carpooled, walked, biked or otherwise got buy with a single car. We did not eat out so meals for two are just a tiny bit more expensive for two than one unless you are eating expensive meats. Utilities are also only a little more expensive for two as well, same with phone, internet, streaming. Health Insurance, even some of my better off friends have one partner who has insurance that covers both of them so one of them does not need a job that provides health insurance.

You also don't know me very well. I advocate for higher minimum wages; I believe that minimum wages should be local, states and cities need to raise minimum wages not the Federal Government. Cities need zoning and they should use zoning to increase affordable housing. Lesser cost housing should predominate not be an afterthought. I think we should have some form of universal health care that encourages and promotes the creation of more health care providers so the treatments do not end up being rationed. I support carbon rationing so that the rich can't continue to burn up the remaining natural resources.

I was just making the point that some people are homeless because they can't find a partner/friend/family to share the load because they are damaged/poorly functioning. We need to find a way to build a safety net for these people. Some of them can't even access the safety nets that they qualify for and already exist because of their poor functioning.
