You are wrong about the stairs and the guitar. I have heard some great guitar at lame ass parties. My brother in law and Angelo Guilberti are two notable examples. My Bro in law, well, he is a pro, has plenty of paid gigs and Angelo, he is a virtuoso on a twelve string even though he has stump fingers due to a birth defect.
