You asked, "Why Do Countries Hate Immigrants?"
It is not countries that hate immigrants, it is just some of the people in some countries that hate immigrants.
Why do those people hate immigrants? Because they are racist or xenophobic. Some small faction in those countries do have a legitimate reason to oppose immigration but for the most part the opposition is based on race and religion.
I used to oppose immigration because I believed that we already have too many people in the U.S. Too many houses, too many cars, too much pollution, too little wilderness. The country is just too crowded. More people will not make the U.S. a better place.
I understand now that was selfish of me and now, I support immigration but feel we need to balance immigration with policies that accommodate that influx without damaging the environment further.
We do need to control immigration; I think we need to limit immigration to refugees and asylum seekers. Yes, the world needs a humane plan for accommodating people being displaced by war and climate change.
