You can't force compromise, if it is forced then it is not compromise. You have to encourage it and incentivize it. You have to restore trust. It has not been a year since we had a very divisive election. It will take more time than that to build the trust needed for compromise and the first compromises will be small. By the way, compromise is a two way street. Both sides have to give up something to get something.
