You make a lot of good points that I agree with, nice story.

Regarding EITC:

The program is distributed through the tax code — which means higher earners “pay” more for it in the form of higher taxes — and its benefits flow exclusively to lower income households.

Increased EITC will not necessarily cause higher earners to “pay” more. It might get paid for by increased deficit spending. You have to raise rates for higher earners to cause them to pay more.

Benefits of increased EITC do not flow exclusively to lower income households they also flow to business where the EITC recipient will spend the money.
