You need to provide some examples because I have not seen this in my lifetime, and I am 65. Certainly not in the USA. We did see protests that caused some changes but not changes in governance or leadership. Women got LIb, Jim Crow ended, the Vietnam War ended, and it seems abortion might be ending. We deposed one President (Nixon) but not because of the people but because of the system. Biggest protest movement in the USA in the last half century was "Occupy Wall Street," it accomplished nothing.

The ANC did depose the Apartheid Government of South Africa and the Soviet Union was broken but it was not the people but the influence of foreign governments that made those changes happen.

Would that Extinction Rebellion, Greta Thunberg, Green Peace or the Sierra Club could change the world, they can't.
