You should consider editing this. You misspelled recognize and the ending phrase is redundant to the opening phrase. "it is impossible to recognize a greater intelligence than one’s own" is sufficient. Maybe you should eliminate the paragraph entirely as I believe it is untrue. Quite often we can tell when someone has a higher IQ than we might possess. Often it is clear and unambiguous, the disparity is often so great it is unmistakable.
