Your are welcome. I enjoyed reading your story.

Where do you live, what native wildlife are you talking about. Here in Coastal Southeast I don't have a problem growing things, I have more of a problem preventing being over grown. Having grass and mowing it is the easiest. I have let more than a half a dozen new Oak and Maple trees grow on our lot. Fighting back against black berries, golden rod, invasive trees, vines and innumerable other weeds. Wildlife needs to be limited. Rats, snakes, and other pests are common here. We live near the boarder of an access by permit only National Wildlife Refuge coastal marsh.

You might clarify who could benefit from your ideas and where they are best applied. Sounds like something more important in arid climates.

When I was growing up in Maine if we spent a lot of effort on gardening it was vegetable gardens. I will look more into permaculture. I am interested in how to keep from being overrun by weeds and bushes without a lot of work.
