Your premise is right, like so often the Penguin is. Hunter should not have been pardoned.
What the law might find as innocent others (including God) might not.
At trial the jury does not find someone as innocent they find them as not proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
More often than not the guilty are not convicted. Much more often when they are rich.
The system barely works, some would even say it doesn't.
At the end of the day, most people will accept the situation as SNAFU and move on. Just the political weenies will put up a hue and cry. So many make their living thru punditry they need something to gnash their teeth over.
