Zero risk return is, CD's, Money Market, or Treasuries. right now zero risk return is like 4.5% and for inflation, I use my personal inflation rate calculated based on my personal expenses and it is currently 2.78%. My zero risk investments return a real return of 1.72%, I am risk off right now so I have more than half my assets in zero risk investments. In a risk on mode, I would have less than 30% in zero risk investments. Risk on investments like tech stocks or SP500 index funds return much higher but I only move heavy risk after the market tanks. I have held Bitcoin and Ether in the past. I made money but they were volatile and required too much attention. Kind of like when I was trading options. That stuff will keep your awake at night because you never knew what you would wake up too. I do not give investment advice and am just saying what I do. Consult a professional when investing.
